Cheesy feet

I realise that I haven't made a posting in this section for ages so today whilst I was making these biscuits for Char's picnic I took some photos. They are absolutely the easiest thing to make and they would be great in any shape but I bought the cutters from E-bay and in this shape they always seem to make people smile!

All things lemon curd!

I know that the last recipe had lemons in it and here are two more but using lemon curd this time, and not any lemon curd but my Mum's recipe which up until now I have not had - I have never needed it because she has always made it for my friends and me!

Auntie Norah's Apple Flan

Auntie Norah was my grandad's sister and she lived her entire life in the small Mendip village of Wanstrow. She lived with Uncle George in Lilac Cottage with a large garden, a brood of hens and a distant view of the railway line. I was always told that the village boasted the smallest railway station in the country and my memory is little different from this photo, although it is 80 years on.

Toffee Sponge Pudding

I know that I shouldn't be making a post in the Food section so soon after the last one (and I promise that there are several crafting ones on the way) but we made this pudding today and it is such a favourite with our family that I thought I would share it straight away! It works very well after doing a roast because the sponge can be mixed earlier and the sauce prepared but not poured over the sponge until just before going into the oven. I have no idea where I got this recipe from, (it was possibly Les's Mum) but I have had it for over 30 years which means that the weights are in 'old money'

Dorset Apple Cake

I know that it has been absolutely ages since my last posting in food, so after a visit to Mum's yesterday here is a recipe for Dorset Apple cake. She made it from the school fund-raising recipe book from Noah's school which I gave her at Christmas and every recipe we have made from it so far has been successful - so they really are tried and trusted recipes, but no credit to us this time!
